From Artist to Chef
His artistic streak led him to graduate in Painting at the Faculty of Fine Arts in Lisbon. During this journey in the world of painting he developed his notion of aesthetics and creative spirit. His dream as a child has always been present and has been refined over the years through his travels around the globe. Of these, it brought countless ideas and even more desire to explore the world of gastronomy. Later, Chef Ricardo Delgado decided to improve his ideals, passion for the art of cooking and his strong creative and innovative spirit by graduating in Kitchen Management and Production, at the Estoril Hotel School.
He interned at Fortaleza do Guincho under the supervision of Chef Miguel Rocha Vieira and Chef Gil Fernandes. He continued his journey in the kitchen of the Hotel Intercontinental do Estoril where he had the opportunity to work with Chef Miguel Laffan in the restaurant Atlântico. Over the years he was part of the team of several catering companies at events, until he became Sous Chef at Herdade dos Delgados, under the guidance of Chef Carlos Galhardas.
Currently, as Executive Chef of the hotel, Ricardo Delgado, he has created a modern menu, inspired by the roots of Alentejo gastronomy, where Portuguese flavors are very present and regional and national products assume the main role.
